Well, as much as I tried to prevent it, Will turned one. We celebrated with a first birthday party on Sunday and Will got to enjoy a giant cupcake all to himself. We started the day with Will's baptism at church, then enjoyed a luncheon here at the farm. I had really wanted to have the party outside, but it was too chilly. The children in attendance LOVED playing outside and exploring the farm. After we ate cake, our wonderful friendly neighbor, Mr. Burtner, brought his tractor and hay wagon over and we took a hayride to the other neighbor's farm - Harlo Farms, and we allowed each child to pick a pumpkin. They were very generous to us and gave us a great deal on the pumpkins. The only rule for the kids was that they had to be able to carry their own pumpkin. This was a helpful rule for the parents since everyone there had at least 2 children! All in all it was a wonderful day and I couldn't imagine a better party for our little guys first birthday.
